Skills Development Facilitators

In terms of the Skills Development Act, A Skills Development Facilitator is an individual whose role is crucial in enabling the raising of skills levels within an organization. They must perform specific functions such as assisting organizations develop and complete workplace skills plans and annual training reports, advising organizations on quality assurance requirements of the Seta and serving as the contact between organizations and the Seta.

We have a major skills gap in South Africa. The job descriptions in organizations does not match the skills, abilities and knowledge of the South Africa labour force. This a part of the reason why unemployment increases and economic growth decreases.

Skills Development Facilitation

  • Phase 1

    Identify the skills shortages in the organization by conducting a skills audit.

  • Phase 2

    Design a Work Skills plan to close the gaps of skills shortages.

  • Phase 3

    Determine which courses are necessary and apply for Discretionary and Mandatory funding at SETA’s. Compile all necessary information from employer.

  • Phase 4

    Implement implementation plans and monitor and evaluate progress. Make all necessary adjustments.
